As the title says, my HDD does not appear in disk management. I followed this checklist up to step 10:

http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/265764-32-guide-installed-disk-system?591a342c134f6=reload

but it still is not there. I've tried switching SATA cables and ports and installing drivers but it still does not work. However it does appear in device manager and in the BIOS. I am thoroughly confused. Any help would be appreciated.

My MOBO is an Asus Z170-E and my hard drive is Western Digital 1TB and I'm using Windows 10.

Presumably this is a secondary drive?
What DOES Disk Management window show?

Does it appear in Device Manager?
In the BIOS?

Your SSD wouldn't happen to be a m.2 drive, would it?

This is the SSD I currently have installed

I don't believe that it is a m.2 drive, it is SATA III
