I have a acer aspire vx15 entry level gaming laptop. It came with 8Gbs of DDR4 -2400 Mhz Micron ram. Now, will it be an issue if I add a second stick of DDR 4 - 2400mhz ram, but the brand is Crucial memory. I know Crucial uses micron ram chips and is part of Micron, so I'm hoping it won't be an issue, they both 1.2V chips with the same specs. Will mixing these brands be a problem ?

Solution
Maybe, maybe not.

Mixing memory is usually not good as there is often incompatibilities between memory modules. Also note that even using memory modules with the same part number can cause incompatibility issues, due to variances in module characteristics.

If lucky, the individual modules might be compatible. The only way to be sure is to try them. But be prepared to try several other modules instead if the first module is found to be incompatible with the existing module.
