I sure have bombarded this website with my constant topics about this but this shall be my last one (if anyone actually cares, haha).
Basically, since the start of this month, my computer has been making this sort of humming noise that seems to be constant but changes in volume randomly, sometimes it gets louder and sometimes it gets quieter but it seems to always be there. It's be there for almost an entire month now and I just can't pinpoint the cause (I'm a little too scared to start messing around with my computer truthfully).
The noise is at it's loudest from the front of the computer and when putting my ear next to the opening in my pc case but it's much quieter and even sometimes not possible to hear from other angles. I originally thought it was my hard drive considering the noise is loudest at the front of my case but my hard drive hasn't shown any signs whatsoever of issues, it's almost as good as new and everything seems to work fine. I tried to stress my hard drive out by copying files for example to see if the noise got louder but it didn't.
A friend suggested that it may be my motherboard as apparently sometimes motherboards can make this humming sound that disappears eventually. I've recorded multiple videos of the noise but it's kinda hard to hear due to my CPU fan: https://vimeo.com/217662456 (You can hear the humming/vibrating if you listen very closely). It also sounds very similar to the noise in this video but mine is much louder: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x2QyencCA8k.
I've also noticed that the humming noise seems to get louder if I plug a memory stick in to my usb port but I can't confirm that this is constant.
I also thought it may be due to overheating and the fans speeding up for example but all my temps are fine, even when my computer is idle the noise continues... the noise might actually be at it's loudest when my computer is idle.
I also know it's not my PSU considering I can't really hear the noise when putting my ear next to the PSU.
My specs are:
CPU: AMD Radeon A8-6600k
GPU: Geforce GT 730 2GB DDR5
Power Supply: Seasonic S12-II 520W 80+
RAM: 8GB DDR3
Hard Drive: Western Digital WD Green WD20EZRX 2TB
All I really want to know is if it's serious and if I should be worried. Surely if it's been happening for almost a week and hasn't caused any issues then it can't be a massive problem right?
