In my local cex there are 2 OEM pcs:
I5 2400, 256gb ssd, 4gb ram- £135
I5 4460, 500gb hhd, 8gb ram- £185.
I already have a 500gb hhd so if I choose the 2400 I will have enough space, but I will have to buy a 4gb ram stick for about £12 to get 8gb ram. Is the 4460 going to give me a reasonable boost I FPS over the 2400? Also, I can't decide between a gtx 770 2gb or a HD 7970 3gb. The 770 is faster and newer, but the 7970 has more vram. They go for about the same price.

The 4460 is the better CPU, and I would say considering today's high VRAM demands, the 7970 is overall the better GPU. I own a 7970 and even on an old i7-950 CPU I can play most games at max or high settings at 1080p. There's only a few like Arkham Knight, The Witcher 3, and RE 7 that I have to go lower than high settings with.
