Hello community

Since i just upgraded my gpu from a gtx 970 to a 1080 i just got told by everybody how bad of an idea it was to change my gpu immidiately in the next gen

So i would like to ask what do you think about my previous upgrades how big of an improvement were they?

The first gpu i used was a geforce 7800 gt (with amd sempron(edited) 2800+) (i didnt really like this build always had some problem)
Than the first i owned (christmas) was a radeon hd 7770 (with an a10-6800k)
Than the first i worked for (summer job) the gtx 970 (with an i7-6700k)
That i now changed to the 1080

So what do you think how do thiese cards compare roughly?
I think the 1080 is about ~50% faster than the 970 and i think the 970 is also about 50% faster than the 7770
(i dont know the price xmas present i dont ask for price xP but they felt pretty similar)

but i have no idea how the others compare since i have never seen a gt 7800 benchmarked against the hd 7770

And imo the biggest diff is from the gt 7800 to the hd 7770 my guess is later is about 10 times faster?

What is your insight and opinion on the matter?

Thank you guys for all the valueable comments :)

^^ my favorite is when it says +∞% value between the hd 7770 and the 7800gt
The hd did feel +∞ times better xD

Cause i might have upgraded a bit too fast the vram started to feel... Slughish is the word i think
the fps and performance was on top but it still stuttered (the gtx 1080 doesnt)

I didnt have problem on the fps part thou so i might have also been fine with a more vram version of the 970 xP

I mean the only real performance difference i saw was in andromeda and mankind divided and even thou the 1080 also gets about 30 fps in mankind divided
(can max 70fps andromeda thou)
But it feels a more stable 30 fps with no stutters (like how my ps3 plays x)

But games like galactic civ 3 no mans sky civ 6 got rid of stutters :)
