So I was mid-game when my display stopped working and I couldn't see anything. I was playing music in the background and that kept playing I pressed some keys and could hear everything was running fine on my PC. So I switched monitors, still nothing. Switched from display port to hdmi, still nothing. So now I'm thinking it's the graphics card. I switch to dvi from the motherboard, restart and now I see a white line across the screen with color pixels scattered around. Could it be the motherboard is fried?

Solution
Since music was still playing, I dont think the mobos fried (since it still worked). If you have another system, test it out elsewhere with different parts and check if your GPU/Monitor has died.

solved-- invidia control panel / 3d settings / Adjust image settings with preview / Select - use my preferences emphasizing. Leave slider at quality if you like. Apply. This works with default install settings. May also work good with other previous settings changes.
