I have a kingston 8gb ram ddr3 and i installed a 4gb ram with it but when i startup windows. It only shows that I have 8 ram.

Have you tried the new stick by itself? Different RAM sticks very frequently don't play well together; it's why it's generally recommended to use memory in a single kit that's been tested together, if at all possible.
