Hello. I have a HP G62 Notebook PC/Windows 10/Intel Core i3/2.4 GHz. I have a new client who requires Intel Core 2Duo P8700 with 2.53 GHz. Can I upgrade it?

Solution
an I3 at 2.4ghz is more powerful than a core 2 Duo P8700 even with the lower clock so you dont need to worry. Furthermore most laptops from big brand manufacturers use proprietary boards often with the CPU soldered on so the chance you can upgrade anything but ram or a hard drive is very very low

Why do people say this so often???? in my experience it is simply not true. At least 95% of the laptops I work on have a socketed cpu and are easily replaced.

What is the EXACT model of the processor that is currently in that laptop?

Most things from Haswell era on are soldered, unfortunately.

Most things from the "Bridge" generations and earlier were socketed.
