I've had a 8 years old modem and a 4 years old router, which is why my ISP decided to hit me up with a new modem/router combo. I plugged it in, expecting stuff to work better but apparently it doesnt. My internet keeps disconnecting in random intervals, sometimes it's after 5 minutes, sometimes it's after an hour.

I am connected through WiFi, because there's no other option unfortunately.
First off, here's my rig:

My router model is: Comtrend Vi 3223 ADSL and VDSL Router
Internet adapter: Netgear WNA3100 N300 (USB)

My ISP: Tele2 (i live in Austria)
OS: Win10 x64

Drivers are up to date and the issue only happens on my PC, not on my smartphone, which is the only other device connected.
I tried resetting my router, disconnecting all sorts of connections for a couple minutes, resetting TCP/IP protocol.
I also checked the DHCP lease time, which is 24 hours, cant change that somehow, atleast 9999 or something didn't save, maybe setting it to 0 will set it to infinite. But since it's on 24 hours by default that shouldt cause my random disconnects every couple minutes either.

Since my new router/modem is not as ancient as my old one, ive found tons of new settings my ancient relic didn't have, so i might be missing something in there.

I really hope someone can help me out fixing this, since i need my PC for plenty AFK activities, and DCing will basically screw me over.

Cheers!

PS. dont blame me for my low end networking hardware lmao, i will replace it, but my even older devices provided a stable connection

Does the following link match your new router?

Do you have the router's User Guide/Manual?

You disconnected "all sorts of connections" per your post. That is okay but you do need to verify that everything is correctly and snugly back in place. You can also try other known working cables. Can well happen that a cable plug can be damaged when being unplugged/plugged.... Especially the cheaply made cables that come with many networking products.

Check all involved, connections, cables, plugs providing service to your residence. Go outside, trace/follow the lines but do so safely. No pole climbing, etc... Look for any signs of a damaged cable...

Look for any signs of a damaged cable, connector. Kinks, bends, corrosion, chewed, bare conductor showing. Maybe a nail or staple through the cable.

Also check the splitter (aka filter) - those can be problematic as well.

Overall though the Netgear USB adapter may not be playing well with the new Comtrend router.

Try using manual settings on the USB adapter versus "auto" to match the router. Or go to "auto" if already manual.

You can also use a USB extension cable to bring the USB network adapter up and away from its' port on the computer. Could be that the new modem/router is not quite up to the distances involved.
