Am I able to overclock my i5 2500k?

Am I able to overclock my i5 2500k 3.3ghz. I know it is an old processor but I am looking to overclock in the meantime whilst I wait to order my new CPU.

Specs;
CPU: Intel Core i5-2500K
CPU COOLER: Cooler Master Hyper TX3 Evo Air CPU Cooler
GPU: Nvidia GTX 1080
HDD: WD Blue 1TB (2012)
HDD: Samsung Spinpoint F3 1TB
RAM: Corsair Vengeance LP DDR3 1600 C10 2x8GB
MBD: Asus P8P67 PRO

That board is suitable for OC'ing. Yes, you can. But what "new" LGA 1155 CPU are you planning on getting that can feed that GTX 1080? Maybe the i7-3770K OC'ed, if you can find one that doesn't cost a fortune.

The TX3 is an entry-level CPU cooler, so don't expect much of an overclock.

I have your exact CPU and motherboard setup in my Sandy Bridge build with a GTX 680 SLI setup (see my sig). It's still a decent performer after 6 years for 1080p gaming. If you want to overclock to say a mid-range 4.3GHz or so, you'll need something like Cryorig's C7 cooler. Best bang for the buck.
