hey everybody, i am just posting here to adress an issue i have been having for the past two days with my pc. It is home built, and here are the specs:

Cpu-Amd Fx 8320
Gpu- Asus strix gtx 1060 6gb
Ram- 16gb hyperx fury black
Mobo- Msi 970 gaming motherboard
Cpu Cooler- Kraken x52 (yes, the new one with the cool mirror lights)

So whever i am in a game my fps drops by about half, (ie 130 to about 60 in rocket league, 100 to 45 in h1z1, and 60-70 to 35 in gta) and i cant figure out why. I dont think it is a temps/thermal problem, i have my cpu cooler clocked higher than base rpm, and even when i turn settings down it doesnt fix (also i have a fan pointed at the darn thing and that doesnt help). This issue has been happening for about only 2 days but i dont want this to affect my system in the long run so any help would be appreciated. (Every 5 minutes this issue occurs)

Thanks a bunch,
John aka Sammich

Is your CPU overclocked? I suspect your vrms on the motherboard are overheating and throttling the CPU. Aim a fan at the capicitors nearest the CPU socket and see if it acts better. If so that's your issue. That board isn't made for those 125w CPUs especially not oced.
