Should I update my Intel chipset?

Is it necessary for me to update my Intel chipset?

Gigabytes site has a older version for the chipset and was wondering if it will make a difference If I update to the newest vesion by going to Intel's site.

I have a Gigabyte G1.Sniper H6 Intel I5-4460 with Windows 7 64

For drivers, it's not a bad idea to go ahead and try the newer ones. Driver roll-backs are fairly easy if you run into problems. BIOS on the other hand should only be updated if you are experiencing an issue.

Right I should have worded it correctly. I figured as much as to using the drivers offered from the MB but wanted reassurance. It's either yes update to newest or only update if you are running into problems. Thanks for the prompt response. Cheers!

Thanks for the prompt response as this site is very helpful and the people are friendly. No security issues arise if you don't have the most current drivers correct?
