Never use Auto tune!
Here is the easiest way to overclock.
In the BIOS, set your CPU voltage to 1.3 volts, and your CPU multiplier to 40. If it starts up OK, use your computer for a day, play some games, check it is reliable etc. If it works well, the next day increase CPU multiplier to 41 and try again. Keep raising it day by day until your computer becomes unreliable or crashes. When it happens, reduce it to the previous days level and you are golden.
Is that manual mode, or offset for the 1.3?
Thing is, I've been running that oc for a few years, but haven't really pushed it until recently; library expanded when I got a 1080ti. The measurements were taken with msi afterburner.
Also, is 80C the max safe temp for an oc?
You can run a CPU up to 100°C. However I get nervous if it goes over 75°C. IMHO not worth it to push a CPU to high temperatures for a few % more speed.
Fixed 1.3V voltage is by far the easiest. Best to do all your experiments with overclocking using fixed volts,
Once you have sorted your overclock speed, you can then tweak your offset voltage so that when your CPU is running at full speed, the voltage is 1.3V.. install CPU-Z to see what voltage and speed your CPU is actually running at.
