Hi everyone,
Today I experienced an issue and it started with me trying to launch a game (CS:GO). The game simply didn't launch, it opened for a brief second (black screen) and shut straight away. I did the basics and verified my game files and restarted my pc and steam and I still had no luck. Multiple other games don't work too.
After an hour or so of troubleshooting, nothing was working. Eventually I came across a thread that said that windows resolution can cause this, so I went ahead and went to 'screen resolution' and I noticed that I couldn't change my resolution. It was greyed out and unclickable. It used to be. So that's when I figured that it was an issue with my drivers so I uninstalled all my graphics drivers (AMD R9 200) and reinstalled them. It still didn't work. After repeating this multiple times, I realised that I am able to change the resolution when the drivers are not installed. I am also able to launch the game when the drivers are not installed however once I install the drivers neither work. What could be the issue here?
tldr: Can't change resolution with drivers installed, can't launch games with drivers installed. CAN change resolution with no drivers installed, CAN launch games with no drivers installed.
