Hello,
When ever I add a second cpu to my computer, it doesnt post and just keeps restarting.
Another thing is that the fan for the second cpu starts to spin really fast and loud.
If I remove the second cpu, the computer will start running fine again.
The mother board is a w2600cr 2 and the processors are xeon e5 2667's.
I am only running 2 8gb modules so only the slots next to the first cpu are in use.
I figure using only two 8 gig sticks shouldnt be an issue. It should still post at least or give a beep code.
I purchased the processors as a pair and they appear to be matching since they both have the same numbers etched in them. Is this a pretty common problem? What things can I try?
(the chipset driver was installed before the second processor was added. But still, it does not even complete post)
