I recently built a gaming PC and have everything up and running without any issues, including the OS. However, I have noticed there is a red LED at the bottom-right of the board near the USB 3.0 connection, and is continually lit up. I've read through the manual and the only on-board LEDs listed are those near the top-right of the board and the RGB LEDs. There isn't any mention of other LEDs in the manual, in that area of the board, which is odd. All of the components that I used to build this PC are compatible and I haven't noticed any issues whatsoever. Also, no issues with temps, either. Motherboard and CPU are kept very cool as I have an AC going when I'm home.

Any ideas what this means? Thanks.

Sorry a little tired. You said it is the bottom right. Do you have anything plugged into the front usb port?

Considering the troubleshooting led are on the top right hand side of your motherboard, and the one led is just below and to the inside of the usb 3.0, I think it is just lit to show that it is active. It is not a troubleshooting light. As to whether or not a device has to be plugged into the usb i do not know.

It doesn't seem to be an issue with the USB connector that I am aware of, as I haven't had any trouble with those ports. I find it odd that ASUS wouldn't list any information regarding this LED in the manual. Then again, I've also seen this with the manual for my EVGA 1080 FTW as there is no mention of the master/slave switch on the front of the card, so perhaps this is a new trend?

Everything works fine. You said so yourself. We know it is not a trouble light. So it is just a little bit more bling. Maybe it is a power on light. That would be a reasonable guess. Looking at a picture of the motherboard one can clearly see it is there.

Your stressing yourself over nothing.
