Hi, The audio is stored on the disc in Linear PCM format, which is either uncompressed or losslessly compressed. This high-resolution PCM audio, encoded using MLP, is ONLY playable by DVD players containing DVD-Audio decoding capability.
Also, home recorded DVD's can also contain MPEG 2.0 audio format.
