hi i m buying hp z620 with dual E5-2680, i want to to know about memory compatibility.

i have PC3-10600 DDR3-1333 2Rx4 ECC Registered DIMM 96 GB with me which i pulled from hp z800 before selling it. will it be compatible. if i use it with hp z620?

Please advise.?

All of the RAM that HP sold for the Z620 was DDR3-1600 according to the quickspecs. The quickspecs also list that CPU as using DDR3-1600 memory. I have no way to know if the 1333 will work. Intel spec sheet for the CPU says it will support 1333. It looks like IBM sold that CPU with 1333 RAM. I guess all you can do is try 4 DIMMs per CPU and see what happens.

@kanewolf Thank you very much for detail answer. i would like to build custom PC with E5-2680. any compatible motherboard you guys recommend .? DUAL LGA with pci 3 i also want to add evga 1060.
