Info breakdown:

Approximate Purchase Date:
About 2 months

Budget Range: $2500-$3000

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming, Internet/Multitasking, Video Editing

Do you need to buy OS: Yes

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: This doesn't matter to me nearly at all but If I had to choose it'd be Amazon

Location: United states

Overclocking: Definitely (Unless deemed completely unnecessary)

SLI or Crossfire: Maybe

Monitor Resolution: I currently have 2 1080p monitors I plan to upgrade in the future to either a single 1440p or 2560x1080/3440x1440 ultrawide.

Additional Comments: Before anything else I would like to make clear that I don't want to lose any gaming performance for multitasking/video editing performance (if there could be a great mix of both leaning towards the gaming side that'd be perfect). As far as the case goes I need to have a window and some decent color coding would be ideal. PC noise doesn't matter to me... I also have already purchased a Gigabyte Geforce GTX 1080 G1 Gaming but I havent opened the box so I am fine with keeping it, maybe going for sli or returning/reselling it for a different GPU if necessary. If you can also add extra fans to the build I'd appreciate that as well.

well, I would like to plan ahead and change a few things here and there so I will know how much I am spending closer to the exact amount so I can plan for how much money to set aside. I also slightly exaggerated as the latest I will purchase the parts is early july.

I suggest the x299 with an 8 core skylake-x and a great compatible water cooler. Add these parts and your video card.

I'm curious to know how much those skylake-x cpus are projected to be priced at. I've read many different things but I'm sure regardless it would still be a good investment as they would be great chips. Thanks for your suggestion, I'd like to see some other responses and ideas before deciding though.
