NZXT Kraken X62 or the Corsair H100i v2? I want something that is quiet but also that performs. I will be pairing it with an i5-6600k and may be oc in the future.

When I had my OCed Phenom II my H100i was on balanced mode (not high, nor max) and I could hear it through my cloud IIs when my games got calm (such as running from one point to another).

CLCs are very inefficient products. If you really must have one, you should at least get an open loop cooler like the H240x2.

CLCs are are basically the same unit. They all use similar, cheap pumps along with basic radiators and tend to mix metals.
An open loop cooler is just that, open. You can put another res, rad, waterblock, whatever in it that you want. Examples are like the H240x2 or the EKWB predator series.

One of the best thing you can do for an AIO is to replace whatever fans come on it, especially a corsair cooler.

What is the best possible aio in your opinion to purchase then. And also, if thats the case, how come these clc's, especially these two in particular seem to be so popular even with the bigger and more advanced builders on youtube

They are popular because they are marginally better than high end air coolers, people like the way they look too much, and "because water cooling".

If I had to pick a CLC, it would probably be the Kraken (with new fans possibly). Open loop would be EKWB.
