Hi,
I have been hindering on which power supply to buy, and I really just need the public opinion on which one. In case you did not read the title, the question is whether I should purchase the XFX Pro 450W Core Edition or the Corsair CX500M. I don't particularly need any other suggestions for power supplies because I found these online for around my price range, around 45$
My Specs in case you need them:
CPU: A6 7400K ***I will most definitely replace ASAP
GPU: XFX R7 260X Double Dissipation
RAM: 8GB DDR3
AMD Stock Cooler ***Also upgrading
The Motherboard takes up a minuscule amount of power

So again, just pick one of the two PSUs and explain why I should get it.

Solution
I HAVE 2 XFX XTR PSU's and the fans are quiet , most of the time XFX fans aren't loud at all. My quietest fans are on my EVGA G2 and P2 power supplies. My Corsair RMx and RMi are also very quiet. ECO mode on my EVGA units makes them also very silent.

Yes. Modular is nice for cable management but I would not sacrifice build quality for modular cables.

That is not good, I want a quiet computer. Do you by any chance know if this one is loud?

I had 550W version of the Core it was hot and loud when gaming. It was powering...a phenom ii x4 965 and r9 270x.
Even on http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php?name=NDReviews&op=Story2&reid=224 review it says "I could easily hear the 120mm fan of the XFX Core Edition 450W spin up and become quite audible. Of course, this fan noise didn't go away during test 8 as things only got hotter, but once I entered out of test 8's load and into CL1, I can actually hear the fan spin down after about 2 minutes. Then, when I kicked in the CL2 load, the fan started to spin up again after about 30 seconds."

I have only used a couple 450s but many 550s haven't had any noise complaints. When stress testing a couple of the systems with beefier card got a bit noisy but most of that was the GPU fans. but with a quieter GPU I could see how. If those 2 power supplies are your only 2 choices I'd still take the XFX over the CX, imho a load fan is still better that a short lived PSU.

I really just need a final answer on this... I know the CX550M is better than both, but really, it is not an option. I'm a 15 year old with a dad who only lets him spend so much with his own money. I found these two PSUs which are in my price range, and I just need reasons why one is better than the other.
