Hi. I wanted to switch out my previous heatsink since it blocked the primary memory slots. I went with the Corsair H100i v2 to replace the Noctua that I was using....

1) The fans create a buzzing sound that is noticeable so I'll likely switch out the fans.

2) I noticed that almost any action like opening an app or clicking on a link that opens another page causes the temps on the CPU to go from 32C to 39-40C quickly and then back again. It seems odd to me that the temps can jump up / down again

What I'm not sure on is how normal #2 is. I likely wouldn't even noticed the temps moving around as much if it wasn't for the fact that I can hear the spin faster and then slower repeatedly.

I'm pretty sure I installed the heatsink correctly. I applied arctic 5 after cleaning the heatsink as I always have done and then installed it.

Anyone able to give some guidance?

Looks like this was due to connecting the fans to the motherboard as opposed to the connectors coming out of the heatsink. Since the fans were not being treated as fans for the coolant, the fans would spin up / down constantly. Now good
