Will my Intel 6 core Ivybridge be powerful enough for a next gen GPU?

Solution
I'm running an Ivy Bridge Core i5 3570k at home. Last November I bought a GeForce GTX 1070 by MSI. I'm very happy with it and the games I play run very smoothly.

It all depends on your expectations. It's true that you'll only get the absolute fastest frame rates with the best modern CPU. However Ivy Bridge still offers plenty of performance given it's age. Are you okay with only rendering at 125FPS when Kaby Lake can push it to 150FPS?
