Your upgrade paths will be dictated by a few factors 1) budget for this upgrade 2) regional availability of parts, could you provide insight in both of theses please, meanwhile here are my thoughts;

you could spend as mentioned in earlier post two or three hundred dollars into an aging processor such as 8350 and 990 motherboard which will get you some distance forward, but in 6 months or a year you will be right back where you are at right now asking the same question.

or

you could wait and save (if you do not have the funds right now) and get a Newer generation system (motherboard, Cpu and Ram at very least).
there are deals to be had if you have money in hand, Frys.com, microcenter.com and ,many more outlets in many countries run...

Probably upgrade to the 8350 FX with a 990 mobo. That'll take care of your streaming needs for about 200 bucks. Unfortunately you'll experience a bottleneck with that build with the 1080. If you're on a budget, this will work and you'll be able to stream easily. But if you want to invest longer term you can look into doing a total Ryzen upgrade with DDR4 ram or an Intel i7 7700k series upgrade with DDR4 ram, new mobo, etc. But that'll cost a bit.
The 8350 still performs very well despite it's age and if you're just looking to spend about 200 bucks on a good upgrade for streaming you will notice a nice difference with it.

there are deals to be had if you have money in hand, Frys.com, microcenter.com and ,many more outlets in many countries run daily if not weekly specials and with patience you can snatch great upgrade deals and not bleed your funds by impatience.

Example this weekend Frys.com "daily special email " with a code one can snatch an I5-7600 + Gigabyte Z270N Wifi Motherboard for 288$ this is normally closer to 400$... and it has upgradability possibilities (I7-7700K for example) later on. find some DDR4 2133/2400 for the motherboard and your set under 400$..

My point is; I would not recommend to spend a great deal of cash into an aging system.

That's a pretty good deal, with the arrival of the new Ryzen series and the dropping of prices this is probably what I would aim for. I've had friends upgrade to an i7 7700k and not notice that much of a difference from their aging FX which is the only reason I would suggest if, on a budget, the two aren't too different and the aging system still streams extremely well. But if you can find a great deal on an Intel system that can be upgraded in the future I would definitely do that although you may not notice an increase in performance off the bat with an i5.

I also recommend getting an SSD drive. It's the cheapest upgrade you can make and will do wonders to your game play and video-editing/streaming desires. I'm pretty sure the FX series will still be reliable for a while, but you do have an 1080 and that means you will experience minor bottle necking with anything but an i5-7/ryzen series.

Soooo..
Long term solution but not instant upgrade "notable" difference but will be worth it later on if you plan to invest more money into your build: Go with intel deals that can be upgraded later on, or Ryzen deals that can do the same. Have heard mixed reviews about Intel's I5 ability to stream but I have built several PC's and know that AMD series can stream with ease without spending a lot of money. The i7 series seems to fix this issue.

Short term: Get an SSD drive, if you liked your AMD cpu and want a cheap alternative to upgrading for streaming instantly you can look into getting an 8350 with a decent mobo. Again, it is an aging system but will provide instant results and it is SUPER overclockable. I can get an 8320 to OC easily while staying below 40C to 4.2-4.4 GHZ, stream games and get about 120~170 FPS in Overwatch (for example) all while using a lower performance graphics card (660 ti, seriously, still can run things on ultra with good frames).

Read around for reviews. Some people said they didn't care for their upgrade for the intel i7 7700k series and didn't notice a difference to their 8350, some people really just like intel. If I were to upgrade I would look more into Ryzen builds rather than Intel builds.
