My three choices are i7-7700k/i5-7 7600k/AMD 1800x. I want to future proof my rig so I won't have to worry about upgrading my processor in a few years. Let me know if there's a better cpu that I could get. Also I'm looking just for a gaming CPU and I maybe needing a good CPU for CAD when I start college this year. Thanks!

Gaming depends most on the performance of the single master thread.
For that reason, you could pick either I5-7600K or I7-7700K.
Each can be overclocked to about the same limits, depending on your luck in getting a good chip.
As of 1/13/17
What percent of samples can get an overclock
at a vcore around 1.4v.
I5-7600K
5.1 28%
5.0 52%
4.9 72%
I7-7700K
4.9 74%
5.0 56%
5.1 26%
5.2 5%
Today, most games can use 2-3 threads.
Tomorrow, who knows.
For long term, buy the i7-7700K with 8 threads.

For gaming, I discount ryzen. Their overclocks top out at around 4.0, and the IPC is not quite as good as Intel.
