Hi there,

Is the Pentium G4560 compatible with the MSI H110M PRO D motherboard. I know it's a skylake board so I was wondering if i can update the motherboard bios with my i5 6500 and then use the Pentium G4560.

Thanks :D

Solution
ah, that has alot of sense

if there is a bios update existing ,declaring that this msi will support the cpu, yes, put the i5, update, remove the i5, put the pentium, put the heatsink and enjoy

from the msi site, it declare that the support came with a bios update released in october or november

if you read the cpu supported list, it points to this list of firmware

https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/support/H110M-PRO-D.html#down-bios

the first one on the list should be capable of make it work

remember that always you should be using a ups, so if the electricity in the house goes out, the mainboard can end the bios update process

out of the box no

if the manufacturer, in this case msi, provides a bios update, then yes, but to apply that bios update you need a working supported cpu

the thing is, why change a i5 for a cheaper lower end i3? is a pentium, but is more a i3
