Hello,

I am trying to install Windows 7 Ultimate using my Asus Z170 Deluxe. As I'm sure most know, Windows 7 does not have drivers for USB 3.0 built in. So when I get to the language select screen, both my keyboard and mouse do not work. I've looked at the manual and it says that I should use the driver disk included with the motherboard, and to connect it via a SATA Optical Disk Drive. I have the driver disk but I don't have a SATA ODD, because i never really needed one. I do have a USB ODD, however.
My question is if there is any way to install these essential drivers without having to go and purchase a SATA ODD?
I've seen guides that use some sort of patching of the drivers method, but Asus uses many different manufacturers for the USB 3.0 ports on this board. Therefore there are many different drivers, making it a bit confusing when trying to follow that type of guide.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

Yes, that's the first thing i did. No luck.

That would work except for the fact it would probably mess up/erase the USB installer I have right now for Win7. On the install media I have now, Win7 is set up to install Windows in UEFI mode. I cant use a legacy installer b/c it would throw some things off in my rig. If that weren't the case that would be a solution!
