Cpu upgrade, core i9?

Hello, i want to upgrade my cpu i7 5820k with a new intel core i9 7800x or 7820x, some leaks revealed those cpu s have higher clock speeds, higher ipc, more cores (7820x), and better performance, this wpuld be a good upgrade? Do u think intel will sell those cpu cheaper to fight ryzen? Would go ryzen instead?

The i9 won't be a CPU upgrade it will be a system upgrade since you will also have to replace the motherboard.

Given intel's lack of price dropping doubtful. But AMD is going to combating the i9's with their Ryzen Threadripper line so who knows what the price of these platform's will be until they are both released, but with this we will be seeing 12 (Intel) and 16 core (AMD) cpu's out in the prosumer line.

Yeah, i'll replace both cpu and motherboard and go for an x299 system, just, idk if i would go for a 6 core 7800x or the 8 core 7820x, and i hope those cpu dont get extremely overpriced
