I recently purchases a Samsung 960 pro 1tb from a friend for $300. Yeah it was an amazing deal. Now, my question is what to do with it? Should I use it as my main drive and install my OS on it? Should I only install applications on it?

I am an architecture student and I game moderately. The apps i use are AutoCAD, Revit, Rhino, and VRay for rendering. I also use Photoshop and illustrator.

Essentially, I want to make this thing last and not waste it for mundane tasks. I want to use its power efficiently.

I also have an 850 pro (512GB and 256GB) and an Intel m.2 SSD6 (500GB). I currently use the Intel drive for games.

Your suggestion/opinions are welcome but only with reasoning. Look forward to responses and thanks in advance.

Solution
SSDs have enough durability that you generally don't have to worry about what you put on them. I still have a pair of 80gb Intel X25m G2's I bought in... what, 2008? I've used the crap out of them and they're still reporting more than 90% lifespan remaining.
