Looking to build this new PC with existing parts. I only use my PC for gaming only. Looking for advice on mobo, ram, and processor. If its over kill or needs improvement. If i could save money that would be great! Heres the list.

if its just for gaming there is no reason to go ryzen given your budget

especially with a 144hz monitor

Ryzen is much more future proof than the intel i7 7700. Also, overclocking is nice

not for gaming it is not, all those cores are just wasted

and by the time games use that many cores the ryzen would be obsolete

it's the FX story all over again

sure it is nice, but it is irrelevant given ryzen cant overclock much and the 7700 is so much better at gaming as is

ryzen is not a gaming chip

it is a workhorse that can game

if you want a 144hz monitor go intel

the setup I posted is cheaper as well

^ thats true for ryzen 1700. ryzen 1600 and 1600X r pretty close to the 7600k. with dx12 optimisations and ryzen specific patches, it will get better. even the latest unity game engine is a demanding one.
