So pretty soon I am going to get a 4k 60hz monitor(I don't play too many competitive games, and I'm a sucker for eye candy so i dont care too much about high refresh rates). Right now I have an Asus Strix 1070, and I was wondering if I should upgrade to 1070 SLI since it would be cheaper, or just save for a 1080ti. I just want to be able to stay at a decently consistent 60fps at 4k, and I dont want to really break the bank by buying a 1080ti, so I just need to know if i would be okay with 2 1070's. Any help is much appreciated.
Current Build:
NZXT S340 Elite
Asus Strix z270f
I7 7700k
Asus Strix 1070
2x8gb corsair vengeance ddr4
Kraken x41 aio
EVGA 850w power supply

FWIW: Suggest you read reviews of how well the games you play respond to SLI, then make your decision based on that. Some games get almost nothing from SLI, others get great results. Another place to check is youtube videos with SLI.

Maybe also consider how you will respond when your the SLI config ends up having a lower framerate than using only one card. If this would be a puzzle you would enjoy solving by loading various drivers and changing game config files then SLI might be for you. If you are going to feel cheated when SLI gives you +5% instead of +50% then you might skip SLI.

Final thought -- what size monitor are you planning to get ? 2K vs 4K might be the right resolution for smaller screens (text can get nasty small at 4K on a 24" monitor, and text scaling can cause browser formatting problems)
