Hey all.
I bagged a Hp Envy 700-060ea minus the CPU for a bargain online and chucked a I5 4590 in it.

It's currently using Bios Version 80.15 on Windows 10. I want to update the Bios.. I have seen Bios V 8.21 Rev.A which is for HP ENVY Phoenix 810-293d which is newer but uses the same motherboard, but I have also seen 80.24 Rev.A which is for my model. They are both for Windows 8.1.

My question is
A) Will either work? and should I simply choose the newest?
B) Will there be any issues updating the Bios on Windows 10?

I really don't want to end up bricking the motherboard even if it's not fantastic. Is a big upgrade over my old Q9550 and P5Q-E (was going strong!)

Current specs are
I5 4590
MS-7826 (Skt 1150)
12 GB DDR3 2RX8 Hynix ram
GTX 750ti
Windows 10

Any help would be appreciated

Could you give a link to the bioses please, I wouldnt use a different model version of bios on your board, regardless of whether it uses the same board or not, not unless you are willing to kill the board forever, it could be a different revision of board, even the slightest minimal change is enough to kill the board.

Most bios flashes are done from DOS which is why I would like to see the bios files, but there is an old saying, if it aint broken, dont try and fix it, so if its all running fine, I wouldnt bother, unless the bios has a major fix in it.

Only issues i'm experiencing at present is the computer refusing to restart. The monitor shuts down and the PC remains powered on but it never actually reboots. I'm having to power it off and back on using the button
