Hello guys,

I have build my PC in September, last year, and trough the time I have experienced a lot of problems, like blue screens, fps drops in games, etc. I think the PSU could be the problem, because it's too low in watts.

The problems I experienced are not caused by too high temperature, I always check the temps of the components, that's why I believe that the PSU is the problem.

This is my build:

GPU: 4095MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 (Gigabyte)
CPU: Intel Core i7 6700K
PSU: Thermaltake 550W 80 PLUS GOLD (https://www.amazon.com/Thermaltake-TOUGHPOWER-Modular-Supply-PS-TPD-0550MPCGUS-1/dp/B00J2FD6JQ)
Motherboard: ASUS Z170 PRO GAMING
RAM: 16GB / 1066MHz
Storage: 250gb SSD & 1tb HDD

I would like too mention that I've added a LED light and 5 fans + 2 CPU fans
(Noctua NH-D15) to my PC.

Should I change the PSU?

Thanks in advance!

Double check the 1070 as there is only 8GB models. I've never seen a 4GB version. What does the Nvidia Control Panel say (under System Information, "Dedicated video memory")? If it also says the same or just want attempt this I suggest you uninstall nvidia in control panel and use DDU to remove all configs. Then download fresh new drivers for your OS and test.

If think you need a new PSU here is a great one.

Under 'dedicated video memory' it says: 8192MB GDDR5. I took the informations above from Speccy.

Thank you for your advice, but are 650W enough? I was thinking to buy a 800W+ one.

I have to disagree with you. At that price point, you might as well get a G2/GQ/GS (Depending on where you live), which have proven to be a higher quality. G3s are pretty dated so I'd avoid them

You are clearly mis informed the G3 is newer than the G2.
