I just recently built my first PC but it doesn't seem to start. I am Using the Gigabyte H170 Gaming 3 motherboard, intel core i5 7500 Processor and 2x Crucial 4GB DDR4 2400 UDIMM memory. My graphics card is expected to arrive in two weeks, so I decided to install the operating system and transfer my data before that. But it doesn't start, which doesn't make sense to me, since the processor does have integrated graphics. When I turn on my PC The fans start spinning the motherboard lights up, and I can hear my hard drive running. But about 20 seconds later it just turns off. I also don't have any feed on the monitor. I have tested my monitor and vga cable, I have swapped my ram into different slots, and have carefully checked my wiring. I also have a Corsaire VS 450w power supply, so that also shouldn't be the problem. Should I wait on my graphics card or is my CPU faulty? Or could there be any other problem that I did not think about?

Solution
Your motherboard's version BIOS does not support the 7-series Kaby Lakes out of the box. You have three options:

1) Pay to ship it to Gigabyte and they will update the BIOS for you.
2) Return it to the store you bought it from and find a 270-series motherboard that accepts 7-series out of the box.
3) Borrow someone's 6-series chip so you can update the BIOS manually.

If I was in your situation, I'd do #2.

On the box, it does say that it supports 7th gen processor. Could it possibly be another problem or is it definitely that?

Well it does with the proper BIOS. There are several 170-series motherboards that require a BIOS update to run Kaby Lake. I would start by getting your BIOS revision and getting on Gigabyte's support forums to find out what BIOS you need to run Kaby Lake. That's the easiest thing to do without going into more complicated hardware troubleshooting.

Of course it could be. The problem is, if the BIOS is incorrect, no test you could do will return any sensible results. Contact Gigabyte customer support with your board's serial number at hand, they should be able to tell you what BIOS version your motherboard has.
