Hi,
I need a power supply, because the specs on my PSU are really bad and will kill my GPU in under a year. It needs to be around 450 - 550 watts. It needs to look good in a computer. I prefer Corsair and XFX (same brand GPU). I do not care if it is used, you could find it on eBay for all I care. Modular definitely is on the table, so if you find a modular PSU that would be pretty cool. It needs a 4-pin for CPU power, and a 6-pin for GPU power (Like you did not know that already). Thanks.

Hi - Right now (if you live in the US) your best bet is the CX550M for $37.99 net after $20 rebate, so you'd
still have to pay $58 up front. But you get the modularity for a very low price.

PSU's are...
The only two PSUs I recommend in that price range are the Seasonic S12II in 430 or 520 watts, and the Corsair CX450m. The budget you're going for limits you to bargain-basement models. There are not many decent PSUs at that price point at all.

If those two don't look good enough, you're going to need to increase the budget. Don't get a used PSU. It's asking for trouble.

This depends greatly on what you mean by "performance". The Corsair is more efficient, and slightly quieter. The Seasonic provides more stable power, uses better components, and can handle transients much better than the CXm.

As someone who works with the intricacies of electronics on a daily basis, I would get the Seasonic S12II simply because I value stability and reliability over efficiency.

PSU's are the last thing (meaning never) I'd buy used.
