Can a EVGA FTW 970 Sli with MSI gaming g4 970?

The title says itself, I have a EVGA 970 FTW And i have a friend who has a used 970, i tried getting them to sli, but it didnt work, I've read that the EVGA 970 SSC Cant sli with other cards, does that count for FTW aswell?

You'd need the same card to sli a 970

I've seen alot of people using like, Gigabyte 970 and Msi 970, or Asus and msi.

Yes it does, EVGA screwed up the whole compatibility thing.

I'm pretty sure it's only the EVGA cards that don't play nice with other brands, a Zotac, Gigabyte, Asus or MSI card can still be mixed and matched.
