Uninstalled Realtek Internet Drives - Cannot Connect to Ethernet

My computer wasn't picking up any changes in internet usage, I was pretty confused considering I was downloading at the time. I checked task manager, and other various apps, same result. I ended up searching for the problem, I then realised it was something to do with a Virtual Driver that I had to remove. As I proceeded to do this, another error showed itself as I uninstalled this driver. It went something along the lines of 'An error occurred...' I will check later and update this, but anyways, I searched for a fix to this problem as well. I had to uninstall my realtek drivers/internet drivers. I continued to do so and after a reboot of the computer, I saw the no connection sign on the network icon and was unable to connect to the internet.

I have had issues with Windows before considering I've tried to install Ubuntu on multiple occasions but this has generally failed considering I had installed it when it wasn't ready for a 1070 yet. I'd rather not restore my PC since I have hundreds of videos on my HDD and important files.

Thanks,
HypoCheese.

I've tried reinstalling Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller, two ways actually, both coming up with errors...
1) The Realtek Network Controller was not found. If Deep Sleep Mode is enabled Please Plug the Cable.
2) This operation returned because the timeout period expired.

I'd assume I'm downloading the right thing, but it isn't working.

Edit: Tried several more things to fix it, nothing has helped, reinstalled drivers and such 80 times.
Edit 2: Cannot access power management tab in anything either, tried many solutions for this as well.
Edit 3: Turns out I can't click on the network icon, then click 'Network Settings', the settings logo is forever there.
Thanks,

Try the ethernet drivers from your motherboard manufacture they may be slightly different. I suspect from your description you remove one of the many VPN clients that make a horrible mess out of network drivers. Especially the free ones act like malware to force advertisement on you.

It should be as simple as replacing the driver but if the process gets messed up it tends to be tedious to try to find it. You should be able to reinstall windows over the top of your current system. It will only replace the OS it will leave all your other files alone. Of course you may have to reinstall stuff or re configure things to find your data after.

I'll find out exactly what mother board I have later, thanks. Also, I didn't uninstall an VPN clients. I just removed the internet driver itself because I was not able to change my IPV4 or any of those kinds of settings without an error occurring. After I searched this problem up, a simply reinstall apparently fixed the issue. I uninstalled it, rebooted, it reinstalled but still had no internet connection.
