MSI x370 Gaming Plus or SLI Plus?

hello i'm going to upgrade my pc for a Ryzen 1700, i have a Gigabyte Geforce 1060 gaming 6GB and wanted to decide a mobo for the new CPU for gaming and streaming, i have seen the MSI x370 Gaming Plus for 144,9€ and a SLI Plus 159,9€, is it worth spending the +15€ for the SLI Plus? or you guys recommend another mobo?

Dont get the SLI plus because it has a bad user rating. The gaming plus maybe as it gets a good user rating but i would suggest the MSI X370 krait gaming.

Both X370 Gaming Plus and X370 SLI Plus have the same number of ports, lane distribution, and connections. The only difference is that the X370 Gaming Plus is Black+Red, has DIMM status and PCIe-mode status LEDs, and no I/O armor cover, while the X370 SLI Plus is Black+Gray, has no DIMM status and PCIe-mode status LEDs, but has I/O armor cover. Personally, you'd be spending the +15€ for the I/O cover alone (which I think is not worth it - unless you don't like the Black+Red theme of the Gaming Plus).

Both are great motherboards for your 1700 / 1060 though.

@OP, what retailer are you using?
MSI isn't always the best value, and Gigabyte/Asus/AsRock generally provide better quality components.

That's something present across all Ryzen boards, not just the one I listed.
As long as you pair it with some high frequency DDR4 memory you'll be fine, they're gradually rolling out patches for more memory modules.

Best MSI by tomshardware is the x370 Krait.

I'd take those with a grain of salt, one lists the best by MSI, which doesn't necessarily mean it's a good purchase overall, and in addition Tomshardware hasn't reviewed every single board out there.
The Taichi is good for its dual M.2 though.

Tomshardware has tested many a motherboard. They know a good motherboard and have plenty of test. Both are good.

Look at wider reviews, gain an understanding of all the boards you can, and then compare prices.
There is no static 'This is the best board' statement, it's all dependent on prices at the time of purchase which change daily.

Quality isn't dependent on price. Look at reviews and figure out which is the better quality. Dont worry about the static of price. User reviews are more about price.

I didn't say that...
I said price plays a major factor alongside quality, which is true.
User reviews are also generally very inaccurate unless it has genuinely terrible issues which have been widespread.

You forgot the key last part of that phrase where I said 'at the time of purchase', as in you might go: "The Gigabyte B250M Gaming 3 is the best motherboard for the money" but if it costs $230, is it still the best motherboard for the money?
No. Prices change all the time, you have to adapt.

Reviews arent updated every day just the link price to Amazon prices in the Tomshardware review. User reviews are only dependent on price fluctuation.
