Definitely going to buy a 1080ti, just not sure if I really want or need a aftermarket card such as the Asus Strix ROG, or just go with the Founders Edition, I'm good on space for the aftermarket (I think lol) and I play games in 4k but dont ever overclock...

Solution
Agreed, aftermarket have better coolers and typically have higher factory overclocks (faster).

Just check Asus' website. They list their ROG STRIX both outperforming the Founder's whilst running cooler and quieter. Link > https://www.asus.com/au/Graphics-Cards/ROG-STRIX-GTX1080TI-O11G-GAMING/

It depends. For one, what kind of case do you have? How's the spacing inside it? Adequate airflow, etc?
Power supply. Can your current one drive a 1080ti and the rest of your system? 600w is the minimum, with aftermarket cards drawing more power than founders.

I have an Alienware Aurora R4 ALX, don't laugh... I had a Titan X (Maxwell) which fit fine, but theres this weird ass plastic airflow thingy that is there, and im not sure if the card will run into it... Thanks for the quick response, and the PSU is plenty 875w

Oh yea, that psu is definitely big enough! As for the plastic shroud, it can be removed, and you probably should, since it doesn't even help with airflow at all.
Some of the 1080tis won't fit into that case. Try not to go over 11.25 x 5.25in(286 x 134mm), or the card may not fit without some mods.
