asked my dad for a new pc, he said no, so i am currently upgrading my laptop:
vostro 3300
specs=
cpu:i5 520m 2.4 ghz, boosted to 2.9 ghz
gpu geforce 310m 650 mhz 1gb of vram
ram:8 gb ddrl 3
500 gb of travelstar hdd not full im using 169 gb of it. (170 technically)

so i am thinking of getting a 240 gb ssd, so i can store my steam files there (my steam files loads slowly, and my boot time is sh!#.
i can buy stuff from lazada.com.ph
and im thinking of getting a sandisk ultra ii 240 gb sdd, any thoughts?

plus i asked for an answer not some, "eh ur pc is sh!#"

so the truth hurts?you got an honest answer, even tho it wasnt what you wanted to hear.and to be fair,in no way could that answer be construed to say your pc is a pos.like was said,an ssd is pretty much the only upgrade you can do.the benefits are debatable.

listen, i have heard people tell me over and over that my laptop isnt good. outsource it isnt good, you dont call a hdd good nowadays. my point is, its old, but it is still ok. so enough with saying its not possible to upgrade and actually help?

your preaching to the choir here.lol.i just had to retire my phenom 8650 computer.if it was still working i would still be using it.i took a lot of flack for my new build not being new technology, but like you say,if it works for you use it.good luck on the ssd.

The expense is worth the risk. This goes double if your computer still has it's original hard drive. The SSD your looking at is only $100, and a new gaming laptop costs way more than the upgrade. So just upgrade the existing computer. The one thing I recommend is making sure than you by more than enough space for your needs. New games come out all the time, and there is a chance you'll want to load more games onto your computer in the future.

I recently updated my 6 year old HP laptop with to a 2 TB Firecuda gaming Solid State Hybrid Drive (SSHD). The upgrade improved boot time (20 secs to load Windows 10), and I'm able to load large programs like Photoshop and Maya with no problems. SSDs are obviously much, much faster than SSHDs, so you won't be disappointed with your investment.

Side note: You will want to max out your memory with gaming RAM. Games require alot of RAM these days. Check your laptop's manual to find out the maximum amount of RAM your computer can handle.
