Please help, my desktop Mac running 10.6.8 gets stuck in a boot loop, apple logo screen with spinning circle and stays like that, I can access the single user terminal mode but nothing seems to work..When I use the mount -uw command I get a , 1 ophaned disk stopped and directory 0??Plus safe mode wont boot up, its starts get about a third of the way on the progress bar and goes back to continuious loop, setting disk Permissions seems to fail or not work....ahhh..please help as i don't have the original disk as its my kate Fathers old PC and I need it for my studies..someone must know sonething?
Lastly when i try the set to factory settings terminal commands I get some msg saying uid is 5460 but should be 5440 or something like that...I will post pics of the terminal messages if anyone can possibly understand what is or could be happening.
Lastly the power cable was dislodged during some sort of disk permissions process which had been running for quite some time to begin with...u know where you right click on the read/write for specific users and there is some sort of option there...dont ask why I messed with that but I wish I did not as I have a hunch that has a big part to play...
Will be a rewarding experience for anyone who can help ...
