Hi, I have an Emachine desktop computer and I tried connecting it to my at&t wireless Internet via a USB adapter I bought from Walmart. The desktop had no Internet connect for WiFi so it said to use a wireless adapter. Maybe I didn't connect it correctly because now my computer has a black screen saying frequency out of range and will not go to the main screen. I'm also having a hard time booting into safe mode. Helpp

Hi, and no the screen is still black after removing the USB adapter and restarting the computer. I've restarted it several times and it's not letting me reboot with the F8 key. Its only giving me the option to go to my Bios settings. Is there any other way to reboot? Everything was fine before I tried to connect the usb adapter to the computer. Now I can't get to the main screen without this "Frequency out of range" message.

Before connecting the USB adapter, did you open your PC case? Is the monitor cable fully inserted? The booting issue is a symptom of the problem; you need to figure out what went wrong. Unless the USB port is shorted (check for a bent pin), the issue should be elsewhere.

I'm not sure what you mean by PC case. I'm alittle lost on that part. But I will recheck the cords to make sure they are secure and in place. And where should I check for the ben pin if you don't mind me asking. Would it be on the USB adapter somewhere?
