Hi, recently I have built my first pc and was excited to start it up and install my os and get to use it. But that was all ruined when my pc didn't want to boot into bios. Basically my pc turns on and shows the msi logo then beeps and the screen goes black and doesn't change. This really sucks and I would appreciate any help I can get here are my specs
Mobo: Msi 760gma-p34 (fx) micro atx am3+
Ram: Hyper x fury 8gb
Gpu: Asus radeon hd 7970
Psu: evga 450 watt 80+ bronze
-Thank you

I said far more than just peripherals, i talked about removing parts from INSIDE your pc to put it down to a bare bones state.

You should have also double checked that ALL cable connections are in good and tight, that you did in fact hook up the 4/8pin cpu power connecter to top of motherboard, and I forgot to metnion in my first post to reseat your RAM (you have to push fairly hard on them to get it to lock in place, the tabs should click and go into the center notch of the ram if fully inserted).
Are you plugging monitor into onboard connector or discrete video card?

Start with minimal boot -

CPU
1 stick RAM

That's it. Just use onboard video to see if you can at least get into BIOS. If you can, update BIOS to the latest. Next step, adding sticks of RAM one at a time. Next step, add video card. Next step add drives. Etc., etc.

Nothing, turns on shows msi logo and beeps and turns off

Make sure all cables are plugged in completely, the most overlooked cable is the 4/8 pin cpu power cable at top of motherboard.

If all cable connections are good, then go to bareboones connections. Only have CPU and one stick of memory (consult motherboard manual for which slot to use for single stick setup), display hooked up to onboard graphics port, and only a keyboard. No other peripherals, no hard drives/cd drive plugged in, no gpu, no other add on cards.

If this boots into bios then 1 by 1 add things back in until it does not work.

Naturally you should completley power down PC, plug back in the part, then power it back on.

Also, you did insert standoffs and not just both the board direct to the case correct?

Last thing, 450w seems a little underpowered for a 7970 so if you add back in the GPU and it stops working that is your likely culprit.

Nothing, I unplugged all the peripherals and it just beeped and went to a black screen again

Have you tried the minimal boot, 1 stick of RAM with all the RAM sticks you have? Try one, switch to next one, next one, etc.? Then try the next slot with all RAM sticks, etc.

Are you hitting the del key to try to get into BIOS? Do the beep codes change if you have no RAM sticks installed?
