First overclock, settings look alright and temperatures? What is VRM?

Hi guys, this is my first overclock.

These are the tempatures I am getting, the voltage is set at 1.23v.

A question I wanted to ask was the VICCM (VRM?) was set to 1.9v? Is this too high or should I leave it as it is?

i5 4670K
MSI Gaming 7 Z97 MoBo
MSI GAMING X 1070
H75 Watercooler

I had previously used the OC Genie but was recommended by everyone not to use that and to use my own settings to overclock.
I tried 4.5Ghz but it would not post at 1.25v so I have stayed with 4.4Ghz.

Any tips on any settings I should change?

Thanks

yup change the thermal paste. The temps are not bad though. I would recommend not messing with the vrms. You can read about vrms in this article.

Also not sure where it is in your bios but you need to use the LLC. Set it somewhere in the middle. This keeps you vcore from dropping when the cpu is under heavy load.

More fans is always good. 2 in the front if possible but the one on the bottom may offset that a bit.

Just crashed at 1.23 so upped to 1.24

These are my BIOS settings, I think they are all right? Couldn't find a guide for my motherboard

EDIT:

Crashed at 1.24, now at 1.25 and is reaching 76c the CPU. Does this need modifying?

I'm thinking I may have to reapply thermal paste as it hasn't been changed for more than 3 years?

Also with my case, I have the H75 at the front of a P400S which may be affecting airflow, i then have a 120mm below it, 120mm above closest to the front of it and a 120mm at the back. Is this correct or should I invest in 2 140mm for the top or would this cause too much exhaust?

Hey thanks for answering,

Just ordered some thermal paste now as it hasnt been changed for over 3 years.

The fan layout if the front panel holds 2 fans, I have the Radiator and fans and then a 120mm below that so (2 front) then I have 1 120mm on top and a 120mm on the back.

Where else would you recommend installing a fan? Or should I change these fans to 140mm? Im trying to go for a quiet system as well.

Thanks!

Replaced the thermal paste and kept the fans as the same, now idles at 30/31c and MAX LOAD it is at 60c, this is a big improvement from just thermal paste. Ill try to rearrange fans another time.
