Since a few days i have major obs fps drops and my cpu usage is higher then it used to be. didnt change anything at all. it just happened randomly and ive tried lots of things but nothing seems to work. What can be causing the issue and how can i solve it since i wanna be able to stream at 60 fps instead of 30 (used to be able to stream 60 fps without high cpu usage).

Recently I've been having a similar issue with Windows 10 updates happening while I'm trying to play a game. Also, the Oculus software seems to like to update while I'm gaming which is also slowing down my PC and pissing me off. Part of the issue with the oculus software is that it sits on the same hard drive as the game I like to play the most. Oculus software will update and PEG the drive usage to 100% which ends up causing slow gameplay and choppy frame rates. I typically just let it finish and get back to my game when the update is done.

What version of windows are you using? Have you opened task manager to try to figure out what is eating up your system (if anything).

windows 10 and its just h1 and obs that use up a lot (h1and other games like pubg mostly 70-80% cpu while it used to be 30/40%) and obs used to use like 10-20% and now 20 - 40%

Did you change the power profile? By your description it sounds like your CPU is in some kind of low power mode...

I just fixed my stream with high CPU usage, now I'm running 720p 60 fps with 60-70% usage on i7 4790k. What I did was lower my cam's resolution as mine has selected a stupid high resolution, I set mine to 800-600 and instant went from 100% to 60-70%
