It depends on the games you play.
If this is your system, try it.
If this is a proposed build, look for benchmarks that include YOUR games.

For fast action games at 1080P, I think OK.
For multiplayer games that need many threads, ok.
Ryzen 5 1400 has 4 threads and a passmark rating of 8570 and a single thread rating of 1713.
Single thread speed is most important for sims, mmo, and strategy games.
For those types of games, you might look at a less expensive I3 like a I3-7350K with a single thread rating of 2523.
More if you buy a Z270 motherboard and can overclock.
