Hello, i have an I7 870 and i got a Closed Loop watercooling solution (same problem with stock and custom air cooling) and my cpu overheats under intense gaming 80%+ load most of the time it's only on ONE core, Any help dudes?

Specification:
I7 870 clocked at 3.20GHz
GA-H55M-USB3
Gigabyte 7970 Windforce 3x OC Edition
1920 x 1080

Everyone the problem was the psu not giving enough of them watts i decided to take an older psu take that green and grey wire and splice them together plug number two into gpu and it works like a charm now

Nothing to worry about with those temps. They're within thermal operating range. For most instances, Core 0 is the first cpu in line to receive instruction, giving it a slightly higher temperature than the other cores.

Very true.

Seeing the age of the CPU, it's also possible that the TIM is starting to dry up on the corners. This isn't an issue though if temperatures are staying as low as he says they are.

Is your cpu Parking? try downloading Parkcontrol https://bitsum.com/parkcontrol/ it will boost your performance in gaming it will enable all the cores.
Is you clock calibration off? Go to bios (Press Delete)--> then select "MB Intelligent Tweaker(M.I.T.)" --> select "Advanced frequency settings" --> select "Advanced CPU Core Features" --> Select "CPU cores enabled" and set the setting to "All" -->If you want, you can select "Intel (R) Turbo Boost Technology" --> and enable it or leave it set to "Auto" --> Is "Cpu Multi-Threading" Enabled? If its disabled enable it. --> when your done Press F10 to save.

May be the way the thermal compound is applied. While those temps are in safe range, it could potentially limit you if you are planning on straining your processor. The high temp core would prevent the CPU from working at 100% as a whole.

With a properly tinted heatsink, adequate cooling, and correctly applied thermal paste; you can keep all of the cores within a few degrees of one another.

I have an i7 980x and just running netflix the cores are:
1 - 36c
2 - 41c
3 - 37c
4 - 38c
5 - 44c
6 - 32c

If you can tell us what you are doing at those temps it would be helpful. I can try something similar and compare my temps.
My system is air cooled.

I updated my temps once they dropped. They had spiked briefly when I opened HWMON.

If you are spreading it on the CPU you are doing it wrong. Each time you reapply it, you have to clean it 100% with the thermal compound remover and cleaner. Make sure there is no lint on the cpu or heatsink.

Those temps I posted are running about the same as what your doing. I have Hulu going atm and 4 tabs in chrome open, Mcafee, hwmon, edge, and my core are running from 18-35% Max - 1-14% min.

Mine air cooled is running cooler than yours water cooled and my CPU should be generating more heat.

What brand thermal paste are you using?

Its almost summer and your CPU temps will rise.
Is your Radiator Clogged up with dust?
Are your wires unorganized and blocking airflow through your case?
Re organize the wires
Does your case have bad Airflow? Experiment with your case cooling fans: Rearrange your cooling fans and see if there are any temperature differences.

Is your CPU cooling fan or your other fans running like its suppose to?
Go to your bios and change the PWM of your fans or
Download Speed fan and make a cooling profile for your cpu.
