rotating cpu cooler

I'm just thinking about printing my own case, but the graphics card riser would be in the way of airflow. I want to know, if I can rotate a LGA1151 or 1150 passive CPU cooler for 90°, then that would be perfect, 'cause there wouldn't be anything in the way for airflow.

It would depend on the cooler. The thing with doing that though is you will end up blocking more then one memory slots. What is the passive cooler. And maybe a schematic of the case you want to print.

It is a 2HE passive cooler that i want to rotate, so the memory slots shouldn't be a problem. I am still working on the schematic of the case

Are you going for a silent build? Passive cooler will not work well with 5th gen or 6th gen intel cpus. They run hot. Unless you have an i3. The thing is, if your going to use passive cooling you will need plenty of fans to push the air. Killing the silence.

I'll have there a graphics card that is cooled by air, and i want to rotate the passive cooler on mITX board, and from sides like 4 or 6 fans
