Hi Guys, i cant really seem to decide if i should ugrade to the i7 7700K processor, i already have the i5 7600K and im wondering if i should upgrade, i like to game, but i also like to have a few other things running as well, Mostly Netflix AND IMVU, while i game, i usually play games like Arma 3, WoW, SWTOR, and Mass Effect Andromeda, so with this 'multi tasking" in mind, do you think i should upgrade? if so, why, if not, why not, thank you all! here is the rest of my specs (i have no intentions of OC anything)

16 Gigs of DDR4 2400Mhz
GTX 1060 3 Gigs of GDDR5
1x 3TB hard Drive 7200RPM
and a NON Z270 M-ITX motherboard (i have no intentions of OC anything)

Thanks Again!!

Monitor CPU usage and fps. If you see CPU usage hitting 100% and fps drops at the same time then you probably would see some benefit from an i7, otherwise you most likely will see no material benefit.

There is no point in upgrading from an i5 7600k to i7 7700k, You wont see any noticeable difference in performance what so ever. Most games don't use more than four cores anyways so having 8 threads wont benefit you in 90% of the games you play. The only reason an i7 is faster than an i5 is because it has slightly higher clock speed and obviously more threads which can only be utilised in certain applications.

He states he is multitasking while gaming. While you are right if only gaming the i7 should be far more beneficial in his situation.

i7 7700K does a much better job with modern games. I'm running 1080 SLI and the i5 7600K was bottlnecking my gaming at 1440p ultra settings. Particularly playing BF4. If you have the extra money to spare, go with the i7. Multitasking is significantly hindered by the i5 while gaming in my experience. Good luck.
