Moving router to a different room

Hey,

I have a problem. I want to move the router to a different room in my house and everything seems to work: the phone line works and I am able to connect to the wifi. PROBLEM: I have the wifi symbol on all my devices, but no internet since I switched the place of my router. Can someone tell me what is the problem?

I am guessing that you have DSL internet service and your "router" is actually a modem/router combo. I am also guessing that you have a DSL filter on that phone outlet.

What do you mean by saying the phone line works? will the phone work if you connect it directly into the wall socket where you're router is currently connected (the other room)?

Is your internet through cable, dsl, or fiber.

You have to have a connection from your ISP to the the new location of the router, otherwise it will not work.
